Moving On

My brother sent me a one-line email saying that my aunt had died early this morning. And nothing else. She was my favorite aunt, too, but because he doesn't know me very well, he didn't know that, either.

My Aunt Madeline was my mom's sister, one of five children created from the love of my grandparents, who were from Sicily. She grew up to become a pharmacist and landowner, making her way successfully in what was at that time, a man's world. She was a strong woman, strongly opinionated (as we all are, it seems!), hard working and funny! She was very serious with me, mostly, but she could make me laugh, too. She had a way with me, I can't really explain it, but to me she was my favorite aunt, and I loved her! Last week, I felt led by the Spirit to call her, feeling her time was near. I am so glad I did. She was very lucid and knew who I was and told me she decided to start eating again, which she had been declining. She has not been well for some time, and had been refusing to eat, which is what my mom did, too, before she died. But she told me she was going to eat. Good news! I shared that with my uncle (her brother) and he was encouraged with the news. But it was too little, too late. Today she made the transition from earth into the Kingdom of Heaven and is now with our Lord, healed and whole, completely restored with life in her new heavenly body! I am so happy for her! For I know the Love that she is now experiencing, there is no other Love like His Love! God has blessed you, Madeline, with a brand new life in Him!

I wait patiently for my turn. I look forward to that day when my Lord will call my name, to come up to Him once more. Until then I am humbly
